Your questions stay on device for processing

On supported devices, Grave Doubts uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models to understand typed interview questions and select authored dialogue. The game does not send those questions to 8it or a cloud AI provider for processing. Built-in interview questions work without that model.

Interview text can also be part of your saved progress, including an iCloud save when that feature is available and enabled through your Apple account, as described below.

Saved progress and settings

The game stores settings and game data on your device. In versions with progress saving, this includes your current investigation, interview history, notebook findings, completed cases, and gameplay statistics.

Where iCloud sync is available, the game uses Apple's iCloud service to synchronize saved game data between devices using the same Apple account. That data may include the questions you typed and the resulting interview history. 8it does not receive a copy on its own servers.

Game Center

Where Game Center features are available and you are signed in, the game sends scores and achievement progress to Apple's Game Center. Scores can include a case identifier, completion time, question count, accusation count, and the suspect named. Leaderboards use Game Center player information and visibility settings. These features are optional; they are not required to investigate a case.

Apple operates iCloud, Game Center, the App Store, and its account services under Apple's privacy policy. You can manage iCloud and Game Center through your device's Apple account settings. Any App Store purchase is processed by Apple; 8it does not receive your payment-card details.

Optional local interview logs

Development and diagnostic builds may offer a “Record interviews locally” setting. When enabled, it writes interview questions, replies, game-state details, timing, and app/device software information to files on your device. These logs are not automatically uploaded to 8it. Logging is off by default in release builds and may be on by default in development builds.

Turning logging off stops new logging; it does not remove files already recorded. If you choose to send us a log for support, review it first and remove anything you do not want to share.

When you contact us

If you email gravedoubts@8it.co, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond, troubleshoot, and maintain necessary support records. Our email service providers process those messages to deliver and store them.

We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to address the enquiry, maintain relevant records, or meet legal obligations. You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information you have sent us.

This website and external links

The Grave Doubts pages on 8it.co are served through Amazon Web Services. Delivering a page necessarily involves technical request information, such as your IP address, the requested address, and browser request headers. These pages do not use advertising cookies or analytics scripts. Linked services, including social platforms and Apple, apply their own policies when you visit them.

Your choices and data retention

Local game data remains on your device until it is replaced or removed. Device backups and iCloud may retain separate copies. Manage those copies using Apple's storage, backup, and account controls. Signing out of Game Center stops new Game Center submissions while signed out; it does not itself delete existing scores.

8it cannot access or delete data held only on your device or in your Apple account. For help finding the appropriate controls, contact us at gravedoubts@8it.co. Please do not include sensitive personal information in game questions or support attachments.
